Existentialist Anthem

Existentialist Anthem

The ego,
a drowning source, battling
at sea, up, down, left. right.
engulfs
light and dark.
An infinite loop,
preordained, it feeds off each other,
worries growing//hope diminishing,
knowing versus unknowing,
the irrepressible force
returns again,
light and dark
they meet again.

The tragedy of humanity,
or a machiavellian moment
an antediluvian sailor within-
drags the reigns of his sinking boat,
through cold space - the holy preacher is blinded.
Ultimately,
the ego wins its fights;
dragging progress into shadow,
starving it of light - a crisp white shadow looms,
bleached petals fade away, leaving the whisp of time,
a meeting of sorts.
A graveyard lost in time.

Hark! The two parts, like Jekyll and Hyde,
they tell us, 'dont twitch your thumbs!'
nihilisms beauty speaks volumes,
the chance of existence,
a shot at the sun,
let's give it a go,
life is sacred,
be happy,
let go.
